What is HBA’s iPhone* application?
The iPhone* application enables you to search for healthcare providers on the HBA Members First Network, HBA branches and hospitals on your iPhone* while you’re on the go. Also you can easily call us or launch our website www.hba.com.au.Who is HBA’s iPhone application for?
Anyone who has an iPhone* or iPod Touch*! But remember that you need to be a HBA member to reap the benefits of the providers on HBA’s Members First NetworkWhy did HBA introduce this service?
HBA introduced this service so that you could find your closest healthcare provider while you’re on the go. Using this iPhone* application you can not only find out the address of your chosen healthcare provider but conveniently work out how to get there using the map.What do I need in order to use this service?
- iPhone* or iPod Touch* (second generation), with 2.2.1 software version
- You need to have downloaded the application from Apple iTunes*
- 3G/Wifi connection if you are want to get directions to your nearest HBA service using Google Maps*
- If you do not have 3G/Wifi switched on, you can still use the application but there are some limitations. For example, you cannot see the search result on the map
Do I have to pay to download or use this service?
No, this service is free of charge.Once you have downloaded the application to your iPhone*, no Internet connection is required to use the application. A 3G or Wi-Fi Internet connection is only required to go to the iTunes App Store* to initially download the application (standard data download and Internet usage charges apply, check with your Internet service provider or your mobile phone service provider for further details). If you call us from your iPhone*, you will need to pay your carrier's standard call charges for a '13' number.
How big is the HBA iPhone* application?
The HBA iPhone* application is designed in such a way that it will not take up much memory in your iPhone*. It is only 0.4 MB.Are there any other HBA services like this on the iPhone*?

Like all iPhone* applications, it can be downloaded in Apple’s iTunes Store* for free. Simply download this FREE application from iTunes* or go to the App Store* and search for “HBA”. Internet connection required.FAQs for users of the iPhone* application
How does the iPhone* application work?
Once you have downloaded the application onto your iPhone* or iPod Touch*, the application will appear on the home screen.- Look for this icon on your home screen:

- Click on the HBA icon
- Select from one of four healthcare providers, a HBA branch, or hospital
- Search for desired HBA service via current location ‘Near me’, or by entering a postcode, state or suburb
- Search results will then display in a list. Select required HBA service
- Contact details will display. You can either ‘call’ or choose to ‘View on map’
- If you chose to view on map, selected HBA service will display on a map. Click the orange icon
for Google street view, or the blue icon
for directions. If you chose the orange icon, you will actually be able to see the street view of the provider selected. If you chose the blue icon, you will be taken to the screen above. You can even get directions to the provider from your current location - If you want directions, simply click ‘Route’ on the above screen and it will display the results on a map
- You can then get easy to follow directions to your nearest provider either by car, bus or by walking
If I don’t have 3G or Wi-Fi switched on, what services can I use?
You can use all the services of the HBA iPhone* application except for iPhone Maps (which are Google Maps*)and to locate your position using the 'near me' search. You will have to switch 3G or Wi-Fi back on to use these services. Normal data charges apply.What do I need to do if I see no results for the information I have entered?
Unfortunately if no providers or member centres match your search criteria, then there aren’t any HBA Members First Network providers in that particular area. You will have to type in another location via suburb or postcode on the Search options screen.Does the application make an appointment for me?
No, the application does not make appointments. Once you have found a provider using the application you will still need to make an appointment by telephone or in person.I cannot see any results on the map. What do I need to do?
You may not have 3G or Wi-Fi switched on. This needs to be switched on for you to see your results on the map.I received the error message “Cannot determine your location”. What do I do?
There can be various reasons for this message, which means that your current location cannot be found. Try the search again or check to ensure you have 3G and Wi-Fi availability.Once I am on the map, how do I get back to the first screen of the application?
Simply click the circle button on your iPhone* and open the HBA application.Will there by any future updates of the HBA application? If so, what do I need to do?
We have catered for the four main healthcare provider categories in this initial release, and may include further categories in future releases. Please ensure that you download any available updates for this application when they are available to ensure that you have the most recent list of HBA branches, HBA Members First Network providers and hospitals on your iPhone*, as HBA Members First Network providers and branch locations may change from time to time.*iPhone, iPod touch, iTunes and App Store are a trademark of Apple Inc.
